January 25, 2015
californiaIn January of 2015 we visited Sequoia National Park in California for a quick weekend getaway. Since it's fairly close to us in southern California, we drove up Friday after work and stayed until Sunday morning. Since it was a winter trip, a lot of the features to visit were closed and inaccessible. We did see Moro Rock, the Big Tree Museum, General Sherman, and the Grant Grove in Kings Canyon. Due to poor planning on my part, we had to get gas at Hume Lake before heading back through Sequoia to Three Rivers, where we stayed at the Comfort Inn. In all, it was a nice quick trip and again reminded me and Alex that we need to get out more often, since we were huffing and puffing up some basic trails due to the altitude.
